Welcome to Sprite/Elf/Spritelings/Elfings help!
If you are new to the Garden and you are wondering
"What exactly
am I supposed to do?"
or maybe you are already in the Garden and just want to take a quick
refresher course, you have come to the right page! I am going to talk about
everything you will need to know about being part of the Enchanted Garden
and doing your duties and being the best sprite you can be! If you have any
questions at all after reading this page please email the Garden Head Sprite
and I would be happy to help you!
Firstly and most importantly our Sprites/Elves must be fully devoted
to the Fantasy Fights. Especially, if you are involved as a
fighter in another competition. You also must listen and work
with the Team Leader of the team your on. Team Leaders
run the team so they have the right to say something if they feel
something is wrong or make a suggestion.
Head Sprite & Team Leader & your Sprite/Elf
Leader must know what is going on at all times. Sprites/Elves
are now limited to only Spriting for 3 teams, we have come across
the problem where some Sprites do many teams and
when the time arises that they must leave Fantasy Fights
there are too many vacancies left to fill.
There are 3 main duties: dusting the assigned fighters every week, cheering
for the team, and spreading good team spirit amongst the fighters and staff of the
team you are assigned to. This page is here to make that as simple as possible for you.
All of the duties are explained below in more detail PLEASE be sure to read through it thoroughly. If you
still have questions, please don't hesitate to ask any of our Garden Head Sprites (Emails above)!
One more thing, you are
Required at all times to be subscribed to "Sprite
chat", through which important information regarding your duties etc are posted.
If you unsubscribe from this list, you will be removed from the Garden.
There are rules and topics that should be avoided. Please be respectful and kind to others.
I know the we can all get a little chatty on this list, so if you do not want a lot of email
in your box, I would suggest opening up a new free email address at yahoo or hotmail
where you can have all the "Sprite Chat" stuff sent to. Then you can
check this mail box once or twice a day and see if there is anything important
and delete everything else. This is just a suggestion though.

Your Team's Dusting Assignments
Team's dustings are very important to you and your duty here within the Garden. Your Sprite/Elf Leader
will send out weekly assignments no later than Monday. (This email is separate from the main team
roster which your Team Leader will send out) If you have not received your assignments by
Tuesday let you Sprite/Elf leader now ASAP or your Team Leader. Please DON'T wait until Thursday to ask for
them. In these assignments you will be given an allotted list of fighter's sites that you must dust that week. Your
assignment may also include new fighters to welcome and/or fighters in the upper levels every week which all of you are to dust and report on.
Also you will be given a couple sites that only you are required to dust and report on.
You will be expected to complete your dustings on time. Any Sprite/Elf leader in the Fantasy Fights would
like you to have your dustings done as soon as you can, and our Head Sprites would like them to
be done and the report form turned in by Thursday at the latest. If you need a
little more time (due to exams etc), need a LOA (leave of absence) for a while, or are having
trouble with your dustings, just let either your Head Sprite & Team Leader know
and we can help you out. That's what we are all here for!
Now you have Four things to accomplish when you are dusting.
Check Proud Member Banner
Check site Contents
Check and Dust Guestbook
The first is to check that the fighter has the "Proud Member" banner up and it is to be
linked correctly. The Proud Member banner should be linked to
http://www.webcompetition.net
Voting Banners will be left up to the fighter if they want a voting banner or not:
Fantasy Fights as many "Proud Member" banners.
So be sure it says on the banner " Fantasy Fights Proud Member"
~*~Click Banner to check for minor misspellings~*~
After you have checked to see if the fighter has the correct banner placed
and that it is properly linked, make a note of your findings. I suggest using a
note pad to note what your findings are and to save often. If your PC crashes in the middle
of doing your assignments or if for some reason your Sprite/Elf leader does not receive your report and you
questioned later about assignment you have it.
Next look around the site a bit and make sure the site doesn't have any inappropriate material
for children. (check links in the site and in the guestbook too!)
Check to see if they have their email posted on their site, then proceed to their
guestbook. All fighters are required to have a guest book that allows for HTML
allowed so an image can be left. Please note that some fighters have more than 1 Guestbook on their site
so make sure you sign the correct one. If they do not have a HTML guest book,
make a note that they don't have a guest book in your Report Form. If they
have NO guestbook or their guestbook is not working go back to their email address
and send them the sprinkles by email.
Now, the
general format of a guestbook dusting
is:
A message saying that you wish them luck in the fights,
Your sprinkling graphic. You must use a graphic for dusting!
If you are not sure how to leave images in a guest book, we can
help you there. If you have a website which allows you to place images in other
guest books (most servers do allow this, but Geocities, Angelfire, and Tripod do
not allow this), you will need to upload your image to
your server. If you need a place to host your images that will allow remote
linking for free, try these places:
www.boomspeed.com
http://photobucket.com/
Once you have your images up on a server (whether uploaded
onto your page or using one of the servers above), then your images are ready!
Then use the following code placing in your image information where
it is needed.
<img
src="http://www.yourserver.com/username/yourimage.gif">
An
example how it would look is below, this is one of our Garden Graphics just so you can see how it works:
img src="http://www.webcompetition.net/garden/images/sprinklesample.gif
It will appear in a guest book like this:
(sample)
If your server uses subdomains the code
will look like this:
<img src="http://username.yourserver.com/yourimage.gif">
If you use a subdirectory for images:
<img src="http://www.yourserver.com/username/directoryname/yourimage.gif">
<img src="http://username.yourserver.com/directoryname/yourimage.gif">
If you want your image to be centered when the guest book
owner views your guestbook, simply add a <center> in front and a
</center> behind it. Here are some examples:
<center><img
src="http://www.yourserver.com/username/yourimage.gif"></center>
<center><img src="http://username.yourserver.com/yourimage.gif"></center>
<center><img src="http://www.yourserver.com/username/directoryname/yourimage.gif"></center>
<center><img src="http://username.yourserver.com/directoryname/yourimage.gif"></center>
If
there is anything else you don't understand about leaving an image in a guest
book, or you are having trouble with the codes on this page, please feel free to email our Garden Head Sprite (emails
below) and I'll be happy to help you!
Now, when you're done checking the banners on the site and sprinkling their guest
book, please go to the Report Form and fill it out. You can find all of the
Team's Report Forms
Here. As soon as you fill it out and press Submit, the form will be sent to your Sprite/Elf Leader.
And then you are done with your team's sprinklings for that week! I know this sounds like a lot, but it
really is quite simple once you get the hang of it.
When you join the Garden, your Head Sprite will send you a
"Sprinkled By" graphic. For example:

I ask that you use either this "Sprinkled By" graphic or one of the dolls
with your name (or Both) on it whenever you do any sprinklings if possible. This makes it easy
to identify who has done the sprinkling when we visit the guest books after you
are done.
Cheering is another part of your duty that you should try to accomplish.
I ask all Garden Members to cheer at least THREE times a week.
I would hope to see you out there everyday cheering your team on!! REMEMBER You are the
cheerleaders after all, and if we don't cheer, who will?
Also, there are incentives for you to cheer. For example, if you cheer four times
all four days your Team Leader will make you a special award and most Sprite
Leaders make awards too!!!
Now, cheering is really quite simple. All you have to do is go
to YOUR TEAM'S cheer pages where all the cheers are stored. This page can be
found by looking at the Link Jump box at the bottom of any team page.
Just copy 5 cheers from this page and post them at the
Fantasy
Scrolls. It's that simple! If you want to, you can put a graphic in your
cheers, such as your Sprinkle buttons/graphics etc or whatever you want, and it will appear under
your cheer at the scroll. Just use the same type of graphic codes that were explained above
and enter in your graphic information.
Now, if you are creative and don't want to use the team
cheers, you can always write your own! Some do prefer to write their own, what true team spirit.
You have the option of keeping your cheer for your own personal use,
or donating them to the team for other fighters to use. Though it is fine if you
want to keep your originality and don't want to donate them. Every once in a
while, teams will have a contest to see who can come up with the most original new
cheer, and the winner will be awarded a prize to put on their page. So I
encourage you to get those creative gears rolling and start brainstorming some
new cheers.
Spreading team spirit is easy. All you can do here is be
available to answer questions for any of the fighters, participate in the
contests that are run for your team and Fantasy Fights, and get your assignments
completed on time. If you are more graphically inclined, you can always make gifts for all
the fighters, make new vote banners, make cheer awards, or any of the countless
other ways that you can help your team out and show your team spirit. Be creative!
That is the best thing you can do to help the team. Show your creativity at the
scrolls and in your dustings and the whole team will be affected. It just lights
up the fighter's faces when they see that a sprite has come through and wish
them luck in the competition. I feel the same way when I see people signing my
guest book. And I know that you have felt the same thing. So go out there and
show them how its done! Lets show the world that we have the best Team of Sprinklers
supporting the best teams here at the Fantasy Fights!
THE GOLDEN GARDEN RULE!!!
IF WE DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU FOR TWO WEEKS YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE GARDEN.
What does this mean?
This means if we do not complete reports, reply to our emails or
reminded or chased up for reports twice at any given time, you will be removed
If you had a family emergency, computer problems, etc, please get in touch as
soon as you can with email that says " I need a LOA because...." very simple.
If you did have an emergency and was removed as a sprite please contact any one of us or your Head Sprite Leader or Team Leader
to see if you can start back up to be added again to the garden.
Also, if you can please send us an email on how things are going, just to keep us informed on what's going on and you will have no problems.
We will understand and help if we can!
**Also please DO NOT use your Garden status to VE.. this is against our ethics.
You may visit fighters and request VE with your fighter name at a different time, but NEVER include
*WOULD YOU LIKE TO VE?* when doing your dustings!**
ANYONE caught doing this will be given a warning and if caught again will be
removed from the Garden.
Please note that no one is allowed to do dustings for you either, you were designated to be part of the Garden
and you yourself signed and agreed to our rules. If however you are unable to do your tasks or need help with your assignments
please email your Head Sprite Leader or Team Leader to make other arrangements with you.
Ok now we don't want to sound like a *Meanie Queenies* but since we
do take full responsibility for the Garden and all involved,
we have to be sure you know what Fantasy Fights and the Enchanted Garden and your team expects from everyone. :o)
Remember while your out spreading you wings, have FUN!..
If everyone does their part we ALL will have a great time. Welcome to the Enchanted Garden!
